Regroup Therapy is seeking a Director of Software Engineering to lead our small technology team to build the pathway to Behavioral Health 2.0.  We're looking for people that are flexible, open-minded, and able to wear all sorts of hats. 


 Management & Team Leadership
  • Direct the efforts of a small engineering team to deliver entire product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities in a SaaS environment 
  • Hire and lead a team of engineers 
  • Develop and improve SaaS engineering and operations processes
  • Stay on the leading edge of development practices
  • Be an advocate for great technology and software products
Architecture, Planning, and Technical Design
  • Collaborate with the CPO, CTO, and business stakeholders to understand the long term vision, problems, and opportunities prioritized by the business (the roadmap).  
  • Build an achievable but aggressive delivery plan.
  • Determine operational feasibility by evaluating problem definition and requirements; develop and propose solutions
  • Select technologies to deploy, weighing long term vision with short term delivery needs.
  • Own technical design and architecture decisions
  • Collaborate with team to brainstorm and create new products
Execution, Delivery, and SaaS Operations
  • Develop software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle
  • Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code; demonstrate sprint work
  • Improve operations by tracking and analyzing performance KPIs, recommending changes in policies and procedures
  • Make informed decisions quickly and taking ownership of services and applications at scale
  • Test, maintain high quality, and adhere to compliance standards and/or gain compliance certifications (e.g. HIPAA, HITRUST)
  • Work collaboratively with others to achieve goals
  • Be a persistent, creative problem ­solver
  • Remain cool and effective in a crisis
  • 7 years+ of current web application development experience building production-ready apps in a SaaS environment 
  • Self-starter with ability to wear many hats through the product development lifecycle, including developing requirements, collaborating with business stakeholders, setting technology direction and design, writing code, testing, and deployment
  • Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage work, meet deadlines, and report on status
  • Ability to work in a high paced environment
  • Thorough experience using well-known MVC frameworks such as Rails or Laravel
  • Strong experience building UI/UX using the dominant HTML/CSS/JS frameworks
  • Solid experience developing and using APIs and web services
  • Comfortable designing data models and creating queries for SQL-based storage engines
  • Confident at the command-line, familiar with building personal development environments including basic server configuration
  • Ability to use modern development workflow practices including using workflow tools such as bower, grunt, gulp and git
  • Comfortable working with agile development methodologies
  • Bachelors in engineering-related field or equivalent work experience
Ideal to have:
  • Experience in healthcare tech and HIPAA security and privacy
  • Strong ability to work with product and business teams to gather and document design requirements
  • Exposure and understanding of machine learning principles
  • An interest in behavioral health and/or telemedicine
